Responsibilities:

The Database Developer is responsible for performing requirements analysis, data modeling, and administration functions for Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 databases using both OLTP and OLAP tools. Develop and design solutions for acquiring and re-engineering data sources, using ETL tools, and developing custom procedures. Interface with the client to perform maintenance and testing activities for newly implemented and existing applications.

 

Requirements:

·         BA/BS in Computer Science or a related area.

·         Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in designing and developing complex database solutions.

·         5+ years of experience with ETL tools (SSIS and/or Informatica). 

·         Experience with the data warehouse lifecycle including building and architecting a DW. 

·         SQL Server 2005 certification preferred, solid understanding of SQL Server 2005 a must. 

·         Strong interest in exploring the database architecture field in addition to development

·         Some operational DBA experience preferred.

Must be strong in using .NET!

IT developer to support the SCADA system already running and stable at the site.  This is a collection of programs written in-house using a variety of languages primarily VB 6.0, C#, VB.Net, ASP, and ASPX.  SCADA interacts with Oracle and SQL Server databases, SAP, LIMS, and PLC's (via OPC).  The SCADA  user interface is a collection of web applications built with VB 6.0 web classes, ASP, ASPX, PERL, PL SQL, and Oracle Application Server.  The programmer will be supporting all of these functions.   The programmer will support the current system and design and implement new features as requested.  All new development will be done using .NET.  Some evening and weekend support is required.  The programmer works in a team environment with a senior programmer and a staff engineer who is the architect of the system.  This is a production driven environment.  The success of this system is tied to the success of the site.  Changes, support and development are all driven by the needs of the business.  The programmer must understand the production process and must be able to communicate with the users effectively.

 

Position Requirements:

Programming using VB, C Sharp in a .NET environment.  Experience using and connecting to SQL Server.

Experience:

Our client is seeking an experienced SQL DBA to manage the Microsoft SQL Server databases and serve a lead team member in the migration of SAP from the current hosting facility to their data center.

 

You will:

  • Manage the company's SQL Server databases in a production SAN environment with future clustering and mirroring technologies anticipated

Core Competencies:

  • Mastery of SQL
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining dimensional data marts, including
    • Creation of customer, time, product and other dimensions
    • Implementation of OLAP cubes, MS platform preferred
    • Providing an access tier to non-OLAP data
  • Minimum 4 years of hands on database use using MSSQL
  • Proficient in SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) ETL technology
  • Experience managing and maintaining meta-data, i.e.:
    • Logging success, failure and progress of data loading jobs
